Overview
This safari in Nyerere and Mikumi National Parks is probably the only classic safari to Eastern zone of Tanzania and we will offer you the best of it. Starting and ending in Dar es Salaam, this safari takes you to the Nyerere National Park Ecosystem and gives you the rare chance to experience real African Wilderness in the few untouched areas of Tanzania. These two parks are rich in animals like lions, zebra, elephants, leopards and many more.

DAY 1; DAR ES SALAAM TO NYERERE NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after breakfast at 8:00 am, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and driven to Nyerere National Park. You will have a picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take about 5 hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari, where you’ll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Meals and your overnight stay will be at Ngalawa Camp or Mloka Safari Lodge or Africa Safari Camp.

DAY 2; NYERERE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast in your accommodation, you’ll have a full day game drive in the park. Nyerere National Park is a home to a large population of elephants, big number of buffalos and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, elands, baboons, zebras, kudus and crocodiles. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Ngalawa Camp or Mloka Safari Lodge or Afrika Safari Camp.

DAY 3; NYERERE NATIONAL PARK TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we shall go for a walking safari, the most exciting experience unique in Tanzania. You’ll be accompanied by an armed game ranger for about two hours. Thereafter, proceed with game viewing en-route to Mikumi National Park enjoying the land scape views. Your overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian.

DAY 4; MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after breakfast, we shall go for a full day game viewing drive in the park. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park, along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not cause damage. In the evening, we will return to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.

DAY 5;MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK + MAASAI-BOMA THEN DAR ES SALAAM
After breakfast from the lodge with our packed lunch boxes, we shall visit a Maasai Village near the park to see and enjoy their life. We’ll then drive to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. We shall arrive late in the afternoon or evening for a drop off at the airport/ hotel or ferry just in case you have any other schedule.
